Dr. Andrew Duggleby is the CTO and co-founder of Venus Aerospace. Prior, he was head of launch operations at Virgin Orbit where he led operational planning, mission control, telemetry, ground equipment, launch infrastructure, and payload operations teams.
Previously at Virgin Orbit, he was the head of propulsion research and development, and led a team of engineers and technicians to hotfire the first dual-mode 3D print (DMLS printed and DED cladded) rocket engine, in collaboration with NASA MSFC.
Dr. Duggleby has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.S. in Physics from Texas A&M University, a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from U. Texas at Austin, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. Post Ph.D., he was a Mechanical Engineering Asst. Professor (Virginia Tech and Texas A&M) and has over two-dozen peer reviewed journal and conference papers focused on gas turbine heat transfer and fluid mechanics. In 2010, he also founded Exosent Engineering with a former student, making ASME-rated hazardous transport trailers.
Dr. Duggleby is also a Lieutenant in the US Navy Reserve (Engineering Duty Officer Corps), with multiple deployments to Japan (shipyard repair), and multiple commanding officer tours of US-based reserve maintenance units.
